More Than a Wine Mixer
In pop culture, Catalina Island is known as the location of a fictional wine mixer in the movie Step Brothers. But in conservation circles, this island is recognized as a biodiversity hotspot. In 1972, the Catalina Island Conservancy was founded to care for the rare native plants and wildlife, as well as help more people connect with nature in this stunning place. We worked with the Conservancy to develop a name and brand for their fundraising campaign that would enable them to expand conservation, education, and recreation opportunities on the island.
We arrived at the name ‘Resilience’ to capture the resilient nature of the island’s ecosystem and how committed the Conservancy is to solving ever-evolving threats from climate change.
I worked with our brilliant designer to tell the story of the Conservancy’s work and the importance of this moment.

Catalina Island Conservancy Passport
Our team created a small guide book for the Conservancy’s 2025 board tour of the Island. It was a big hit with the board and the ADDYs, taking home Gold for Collateral Material.
