AP Style? Chicago? Neither.

This is Gray-P Style.

The rules of Gray-P Style are pretty simple:

  • Em-dashes rather than semi-colons

  • Write hunched over the keyboard like a goblin

  • Just one pun per day, so make it count

Small Stories for Every Medium That Have Big Impact

Every time I go home for the holidays, a great aunt or cousin who only knows me through Instagram always asks, “What do you do again?” followed by “Have you ever worked on a Super Bowl commercial?” The answer is still “Not yet.” But over the course of 10 years, I’ve collaborated with incredible partners and creatives on projects I’m really proud of.

I helped tell the story behind how McKee Foods first created your favorite snack cakes (and sampled quite a few. For research purposes). When the National Park Foundation needed new ways to nurture support for the parks, I helped them find their voice. In March 2020, when the work and the world came to a screeching halt, I stayed moving. My art director grabbed his camera, I grabbed my pen, and we masked up to march up and down Main Street, capturing the stores of local businesses.

Whether I’m working on a marketing campaign or a fundraising campaign (in my current role), the approach is still the same: tell great stories that resonate with real people. Cut the jargon and B.S. and meet the user/customer/donor/snacker where they are. I’m pretty good at putting myself in the audiences shoes – whether they’re wearing work boots, leather loafers, or Crocs (metaphorically speaking. You’ll never catch me in a pair of Crocs irl).

Got a story that needs telling? I’d love to help.

When I’m not working, I’m riding around Chattanooga, Tennessee. It’s the best way to beat writers block.
